PALAIA surfboards began as Rapid Ding Repair, the number one surfboard repair shop in Rincon, Puerto Rico from 2010-2015. During that time, owner and craftsman Tony Palaia began honing his skills as a shaper and board builder. After he opened a new shop in South Jersey in 2015, shaping became more of a focus and his brand, NBD Designs, quickly grew popular among local surfers in and around Ocean City, New Jersey. In 2020, NBD Designs evolved into PALAIA Surfboards, reflecting the more refined nature of the brand. Today, you can find PALAIA Surfboards under the feet of great surfers up and down the East Coast, in Puerto Rico and abroad.
